Memorial weekend- Offats Bayou

We decided to go anchor out this past Memorial weekend at Offats Bayou. We left
friday evening and our  friends Troy and Deana on s/v Storyville left at the
same time to anchor at Baycliff that night.  We headed out the Kemah channel and
towards Baycliff and just as we were getting going and got our jib up a storm
formed and the wind started gusting. It was gusting a little too much so we
decided to take the sail back down. We had a heck of a time trying to get the
jib back in (some yelling back and forth between me and Cory ensued), but
eventually we were able to get it back in. We motored around in the choppy water
for a while and once everything seemed to calm we anchored in Baycliff.
We headed out early the next morning the rest of the way to Offats Bayou. We got
there in the afternoon and our other friends Kat and Trey on s/v Dawn Treader
were already there anchored. We took the dingy and said hello to some other
friends from the San Leon Sailing club and relaxed.
Cory made some delicious ribs for dinner that everyone enjoyed. It was a wonderful
weekend of swimming, relaxing, and playing around in the dingy.
We all headed back to Kemah monday around noon. We saw some other people from our
marina heading back too, from various places. It was a really great weekend and
we all wish it didn’t end so soon.
